CRAW Region 2 Week 1 – Pushing Through

Monday, 54 minutes, 6.71 miles
At first when I started, my legs felt heavy and I did not appreciate the warmer temps. I even considered cutting it short but I kept going because I am way too stubborn and want to kept in my CRAW miles. Then I looked down and saw splits that matched last week’s. I leaned into that and told the negative thoughts to shut up.

Tuesday, 54 minutes, 6.96 miles (.60 miles walking)
I absolutely loved this run. The temperatures came down after a mid-day rainstorm. (More likely the humidity came way down rather than the temperature.) I felt strong throughout the whole run and I love the paces I can get even with still walking at each mile. Slowly but surely I’m building the fitness back up after the summer slog.

Wednesday, 54 minutes, 7.45 miles (.71 miles walking)
The temps came back up today and the week gets long like it usually does so I did not have the same pep in my step, especially on the hills. Instead of giving in, I channeled my shirt “it’s a hill. Get over it.” and did just that.

Thursday, 25 minutes, 3.73 miles (.53 miles walking)
This run felt hard for every single step. My legs felt tired. The hills felt hard. I kept going though, thankful for a short run today. I got it done while thinking about a podcast I listened to a while ago. I do not remember who said it or exactly what they said but I remembered the gist. We learn something from every run. I don’t know what exactly I learned from this run but I know that I’m better off for still getting it done.

Friday, 54 minutes, 7.24 miles (2.02 miles walking)
I felt a lot better on this run. The temperatures cooperated and so did my body. Of course, I did not feel as fresh as I usually do towards the beginning of the week but I got it done.

Saturday, long run, 13.10 miles (1.66 miles walking)
Neither Mom or I felt spectacularly fresh on this run but that did not matter. The run passed so quickly and did not feel long at all, likely because I spent most of the run talking. Boy did I have a lot on my mind.

Sunday, run streak, 1.85 miles ( miles walking)
I felt great on the mile for the streak. I almost wanted to speed it up even more. On the bike it felt tough to get the mileage up but not tough in terms of fitness. Again, I enjoyed the ride.
