CRAW Region 7 Week 3 – Carrying

Monday, 70 minutes, 7.98 miles, spin bike 17.6 miles
Originally I thought I would drive over to school to use the track to get in my speedwork for the week. Instead, rain settled in…or never left…so I switched the runs up and ran easy on the treadmill instead. (If only the temps had dropped a few more degrees!) The run went well. My body felt strong. I loved this run.
The ride went well too. Again, I split it into 3 twenty minute segments to get in my strength training in between.

Signs of a Busy Week

I realized Saturday as I pulled up the blog to add a little about the day’s run I saw that I had forgotten to keep up with the entries beginning with Tuesday. Since I have terribly spotty memory when it comes to these runs, I will list/summarize Tuesday-Friday and then resume my normal run recaps with Saturday.

Tuesday, 6 x 3/4 mile @ 10k pace (7:56), 7.08 miles, spin bike, 13 miles
I had to do this one on the treadmill due to rain. It went well and I know I hit the paces. I continued to split the ride into 20 minute segments, just two segments for most of these days.

Wednesday, 40 minutes, 4.59 miles, spin bike, 15.60 miles
I remember nothing specific about this average run.

Thursday, 6 miles with hard effort intervals at the end, 7.51 miles, spin bike, 19 miles
I ran this one on the treadmill due to poor planning and stronger winds than I expected. Turns out that my treadmill does not like the speed changes so…

Friday, short and easy, 4.67 miles
I absolutely loved this run. Remarkably, even though Mom and I ran separately, we both ended up with average paces only 1 second different than each other.

Saturday, long run, 10.28 miles
I headed over to Mom and Ellis’ house Friday night to stay over since we planned to have a family celebration for Grandpa’s 93rd (!) birthday. Since I did not bring my day planner with me, I had no idea how many miles I had written on the plan for the run. Having just looked at it as I write this, I realize that–whoops–I had 13-14 on the plan but chose to run 10. Oh well. We did not get started on the run until after 2 in the afternoon due to the above-mentioned birthday celebration. 10 miles felt perfect. Plus, we got to run them on the trail. I also ended up spending at least 4 of the miles giving Mom a mini-lesson on Imperialism. That definitely made the miles fly by.

Sunday, streak mile, 1.68 miles, spin bike, 30 miles
I felt great on the run which I made myself run outside so I could get some Starbucks.
I loved the ride too, so much more than other recent ones. I think that’s because I did not push the entire time and just rode with a slightly slower pace. The time went by so fast. I just wish I had more time.
