CRAW Region 7 Week 2 – Finding Time

Monday, 70 minutes, 7.76 miles, spin bike, 11.7 miles, .57 miles walking
I felt good throughout the run. Soon I will have the ability to run outside after later days at work but until I can finish the run in the light rather than the dark, I will run on the treadmill. Today I tried running just with the podcasts on my phone instead of YouTube motivation. I frequently run outside to podcasts but I have not on the treadmill before. I felt like I could focus more on the run but also that it took longer. We shall see how I manage this going forward.
I had little time but I still got in the ride using this time to peruse my instagram stories rather than leave them as an excuse to procrastinate later. (Not that I have much more time.)

Tuesday, tempo intervals (10k pace), 6.32 miles, spin bike, 12.7 miles
A new obligation arose in the form of an additional after school program. This pushed the run later than I planned but I still changed and headed to the track for the tempo interval session. At first the pace felt easy but then on the fifth interval it felt suddenly harder to get to the pace. I achieved it but continued to feel that increased difficulty in the final three intervals but got them done!
As for the spin bike? I needed the miles so I got it done.
Interval 1 – 7:56 (pace, goal of 7:54)
Interval 2 – 7:54
Interval 3 – 7:54
Interval 4 – 7:57
Interval 5 – 7:57
Interval 6 – 7:48
Interval 7 – 7:52
Interval 8 – 7:52

Wednesday, streak mile, 1.49 miles, spin bike, 16.7 miles
I ended up talking to a colleague after working in a tutoring program after school so I ran out of time to do the full workout I planned. Thus, I ran a mile for the streak and then hopped on the bike because I can get miles quicker that way.

Thursday, 70 minutes, 7.85 miles
After a few minutes to scarf down some Girl Scout Lemonade cookies, I hopped on the treadmill to cram in my run before my class. I felt really solid throughout the run and enjoyed it. Even though I really wanted to get bike miles in, the full-to-overflowing days that run on end without stopping helped me rethink that and so I cut it short with just the run.

Friday, 50 minutes, 5.73 miles, spin bike, 16.7 miles
I felt solid on this run and figured out the key to making podcast listening while on the treadmill a workable solution, watching the cookie clicker count track upwards. It gives a way to occupy both my auditory and visual input needs and helps give me a reference.
The spin bike felt pretty good too.

Saturday, long run including 1/2 simulation, 13.51, spin bike 25.4 miles
Thanks to rather chilly rain filling the forecast for the entire day and all of Sunday, Mom and I decided to take turns using my treadmill. I started first and went through my first long run with faster miles in the middle. Those faster miles do not feel as difficult as I thought they would. I think the biggest reason for that is my mental approach, not necessarily that I need to step up the pace. That will happen through the next round. (I also felt super strong throughout.) As I finished my run, Mom arrived and we switched off. I headed over to the bike and rode while Mom ran, taking breaks every 20 minutes to do a little of strength training.

Sunday, streak mile, 1.00, spin bike, 18.4 miles, 3 miles walking
My legs felt a bit tired on this mile but nothing too terrible. I walked for a while afterwards to get in some steps.
A little while later I hopped on the bike to get in even more miles. I pushed the pace for each of the 3 twenty minute segments.
